Ultimately, they are the ones who are truly interested in your site and the products/services you have to offer. Also, your advice on building backlinks was spot-on. I try to aim for 20 backlinks a day in an attempt to bring up my Google Pagerank -- even if results aren't instant (it can usually take months before seeing a PR update), it definitely pays off in the long run.
